Tamara Peters
Transfer Care Specialist, Funeral Assistant, Aftercare Coordinator
After growing up in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Tamara graduated from USD with a bachelor’s in criminal justice studies. She found her “calling” in various law enforcement and corrections settings in South Dakota, Kansas, and, primarily, Gillette, WY, where she has lived since 1998.
After meeting her husband and best friend, Kelly, the two were married in 2000 and were blessed with two boys, the pride of their lives. Tamara eventually retired from her beloved career in 2011 and raised the boys, who are now grown. Tamara spends her free time watching hockey and football, and she enjoys music, photography, collecting vintage items, and spending time with family.
Tamara and her family enjoy fostering kittens, adopting senior and special needs dogs, and maintaining a welcoming home for the many friends of their boys who drop by for a meal, a few nights of sleep, or just a talk and some kitten-snuggling. Family is Tamara’s priority, and she believes working with other families during difficult circumstances is both important and humbling. She is excited about this next chapter of her professional life.
