Mrs. Viola Mae Hagerman passed away June 28, 2023 at Campbell County Memorial Hospital.
Viola and her twin sister Velma were born in Sturgis, South Dakota on February 23, 1933 to Edward McPherson and Rozella Young McPherson. Her brothers were Arthur (Denveretta) and Donald (Lucille) and sister Velma Thorne (Sherman)
Viola graduated from Upton High School. She was active in Job’s Daughters, Sorority, and numerous clubs.
Viola married Charles M. Hagerman, Jr. on June 12, 1951. The couple made their home on the ranch 10 miles northeast of Upton where they farmed and ranched, raising seven children (Cathy, Ed, Linda, Clint, Susan, Mike, and Janet) spending 68 years together on the ranch. Enjoying many family get together!
Viola cooked, canned, gardened, and was quite the seamstress. It was nothing to see lights at the sewing machine during the wee hours of the morning, so as one of her children could have the perfect outfit for a special function. She loved her family and was the most selfless wife and mother. When her children were all in school, she worked in the school cafeteria, where she made many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hagerman, parents, Ed and Rozella McPherson, brothers, Donald (Lucille)and Arthur McPherson(Denveretta) her sister, Velma Thorne ( Sherman) her daughter, Cathy Hagerman Kraft, son Edward Hagerman, and grandson David Kraft.
Viola is survived by daughters, Linda Hatch (Cary) , Susan Snelson, and Janet Herring, sons, Clint and Mike Hagerman along with 19 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Viola will be remembered for her beautiful voice, kind loving heart, and the love she had for her family and for the Lord.
There will be a public visitation for Viola at Meridian Mortuary on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
