Robert Walter Smith Jr., age 50, a resident of Madison Heights, died February 22, 2011 at his home. He was born April 11, 1960 in Detroit. Mr. Smith was a self-employed residential and commercial paint contractor of Total Coverage Painting. He loved cars, clowns and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Marie A. Ballard Smith, the couple married October 22, 1988 in Hazel Park; children, Crystal Smith of Madison Heights, Tina Emanuel Ogletree of Fort Worth, TX, Heather Smith of Madison Heights and Adam Smith of Madison Heights; siblings, Sherry Joe White of Garden City, Eileen Timothy Hubbard of Palm Lake, FL and Robin James Barton of Georgia; grandchild, Carson Smith; and mother-in-law, Rebecca Ballard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lois Smith; and father-in-law, John Ballard. Visitation Monday 4 p.m. until time of funeral service 7 p.m. at the Wm.
