Robert Jackson

Robert R. "Bob" Jackson, age 58, was called home to his Lord on September 23, 2014. He was born September 12, 1956 to Ralph and Margaret Jackson. Bob was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak and served as an elder there for several years. He later became a member of Hazel Park Lutheran and then of St. Augustine Lutheran. He was a quiet man of simple tastes. A great listener, his empathy for people was genuine. As an elder, he would attend funerals of members he did not know well, just to support the families in their grief. He loved his Lord, loved his family and faithfully persisted through life's trials. Bob attended Royal Oak Kimball High School and Ferris State University, and worked in logistics for several companies in the area. He is survived by his mother, Margaret; sisters, Carol Doug Dickinson and Patricia Michael Horgan; brother, Jim Cathy Jackson; nieces, Elizabeth Ethan Dereszynski and Erin Horgan; nephews, Steve Ardi Jackson and Dave Jackson; and great nephews, Ben Jackson and Jacob Dereszynski. The visitation will be Friday 4-8 p.m. and service Saturday 12 noon at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
