Rev. Lyle Steiner

September 18, 1922 — February 14, 2014

Reverend Lyle Francis Steiner, age 91, a resident of Royal Oak since 1969, passed away February 14, 2014 at McLaren Macomb Medical Center in Mount Clemens. Rev. Steiner resided at Medilodge Nursing Home of Richmond since 2010. He was born September 18, 1922 in Lima, Ohio. Graduate of Ft. Wayne Bible College, Rev. Steiner was a pastor at missionary churches in Decatur, IN, Midland, MI, Cleveland, OH, Augusta, MI and Lima, OH. He worked for 19 years at the Ford Motor Company Utica Trim Plant and also volunteered as a chaplain with Ford Motor Company. Along with his love for reading, singing and listening to old time gospel music, Rev. Steiner was also a proud member of the Royal Oak Missionary Church. He was a life long Detroit Tigers fan and Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was the dear husband to the late Thelma I. Blough, the couple married July 29, 1945 in Woodburn, IN. Loving father of Steve Donna Steiner and proud grandfather of Evan Steiner. He is survived by two brothers, Gerald and Dwight Steiner. He is preceded in death by his parents J.E. and Priscilla Steiner; brothers, Wayne and Earl Steiner; sisters, Esther Thompson, Mabel Ehresman and Mirian Welty. The visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Riley Township, OH. Memorials to the Royal Oak Missionary Church Missionary Fund are appreciated.
