Naomi Kay Miglia

Naomi Kay Miglia, a cherished housewife and devoted family woman, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, in Newcastle, Wyoming. Born on April 20, 1940, in the close-knit community of Custer, South Dakota to Harold and Nellie Elfstrom. Naomi lived a life defined by love, dedication, and service to those around her.

A graduate of Custer High School, Naomi’s journey was deeply rooted in family and faith. She was a lifelong member of Christ the King Lutheran Church where she was known for her delicious cookies that the church members looked forward to after services. . Her commitment to service reflected the values she held dear—compassion, responsibility, and community connection.

Naomi's heart was always rooted in family and community. She found joy in the simple, yet profound pleasures of life. Her days were often filled with moments of quiet reflection and connection: immersing herself in books, sharing laughter and stories with her quilting group, finding solace and strength within her prayer group, and showcasing her skill and friendly spirit in bowling leagues. Not only was she dedicated to her own interests, but Naomi also generously gave her time volunteering where she faithfully served as Treasurer of the Newcastle Recreation Board for numerous years and loved assisting with crafts at the Weston County Manor, a true testament to her caring soul.

Naomi’s family was her greatest treasure. She is survived by her beloved children: Angela Miglia, Brian Miglia, and Barry (Anna)  Miglia, each carrying forth her warmth and values. She took immense pride in her grandchildren—Zachary Miglia, Lily Miglia, and Angelo Miglia—all of whom remember her as a guiding light and unwavering source of encouragement as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Naomi was also a dear sister to Gary Elfstrom, who shared in the bonds of family and love through all of life’s seasons.

Though Naomi’s parents, Harold Elfstrom and Nellie Dybdahl, have passed on, and her cherished husband, Joseph Miglia, now rests in peace, their memories live on vibrantly in her children and grandchildren. The loss of her siblings Yvonne Sedlezky and Gene Elfstrom marked poignant moments in her life, yet Naomi’s resilience and faith shone through, inspiring all who knew her.

Naomi Kay Miglia’s enduring legacy is felt not only through the warm memories of her family and friends but also through the kindness she spread in her community. Her spirit—nurturing, gentle, and steadfast—leaves a lasting imprint on every heart she touched. As those who loved her gather to remember her, they celebrate a life richly lived and a soul deeply loved.

May Naomi rest in peace, forever held in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call her “mom,” “grandmother,” “sister,” “aunt”, and friend. Her story endures—a reminder that beauty is found in every shared smile, every helping hand, and every moment of grace.
