Nannie Beeson

NANNIE KATHERINE BEESON, age 87, of Clinton Township, passed away August 1, 2014 in Sterling Heights, MI. She was born November 21, 1926 in Asheville, N.C., the daughter of Charlie and Marie Brown Mitchell. She was working as a secretary in the Pentagon when she met the love of her life, Virgil Buck Beeson, whom she married January 11, 1947 in Washington, D.C. Their military life included service in Salzburg, Austria, Fort Belvoir, Va., Fort Knox, Ky., and Selfridge ANG Base in Michigan. They enjoyed golf, bowling, square dancing, camping and many other activities with their sons and numerous friends. They were married for 44 years before Virgil died suddenly in 1991. She is survived by two sons, Michael Caryn Beeson, of Rochester Hills, and Thomas Jacquelyn Beeson, of Dimondale; and was predeceased by a son, Charles, in 1968. Also surviving are one brother, Charles Mitchell, of Asheville; two sisters, Mary Ruth Fleck and Doris Pollock, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law, Barbara Mitchell, of Hickory, N.C.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Dave Rossow, Kristin Beeson, Jessica Beeson, Nicholas Beeson and Alexander Beeson; two great-grandchildren, Bradley and Logan Rossow; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, William Lee Mitchell and Harry Edward Mitchell. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 5, followed by services at 12:00 noon at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. 3 blks. E. of Van Dyke Utica. Burial will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township.
