Mrs. Muriel Kuemmerle

Muriel L. Whitney, 100, died Tuesday, October 29th at Spearfish Regional Hospital. Graveside services are planned for 1:00 pm Friday, November 1st at Greenwood Cemetery in Newcastle under direction of Worden Funeral Directors. Memorial services will follow burial at Weston County Senior Services Rev. Norm Brotzman of the Assembly Of God Church will officiate.
Muriel was born July 11, 1913 at Haddam, Kansas the daughter of Pearl and Elma Caroline (Provost) Whitney. She attended Newcastle High School, graduating in 1932. She also graduated from normal training in 1933, Glad Tidings Bible School, now Bethany Bible College, in 1938. In 1935 she was employed at Yellowstone National Park. Muriel and Estelle Shuck travelled to Cheyenne, Wyoming where they hitchhiked to San Francisco, California to attend bible school. She graduated from chiropractic school in 1942. She taught school in the Rochelle Hills from 1934 to 1936, the Borgialli School from 1948 to 1949, and provided chiropractic care in Weston County since the early 1950's. She married Robert L. Kuemmerle at her parent's home August 25, 1949.
She was a member of the Assembly Of God Church for whom she was the adult sunday school teacher for over 30 years; the Salt Creek Water District for 30 years and the Wyoming Chiropractic Association for over 60 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Roberta (Charles) Solomon of Eagle, Idaho and Klara (Eric) Bradt of Littleton, Colorado; two grand daughters, Theresa (Alistair) Blue of Stirling, Scotland and Tabitha Solomon of Eagle, Idaho; great grandson Micah Solomon Blue; great grand daughter Abigail Jasmine Blue.
Her parents, husband and all siblings preceded her in death.
