Mrs. Cleo Burnette

Cleo (Hancock) Burnette was born August 4, 1914 in Winthrop, Washington; died April 5, 2014 in St. George, Utah.

She is survived by two sons and their wifes Garry Burnette and wife Linda (Riverton, Wyoming) and Barry Burnette and wife Myrna, (Washingon, Utah)l two sisters, Clobe Lupkin (Lake Oswego, Oregon) and Clarice Braun, (Cour' d Alene, Idaho); 5 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Cleo was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Burnette; daughter, Donna Dee: parents Zula and Clarence Hancock; brothers John and Kelley Hancock abd sister Belva Moorehead.

Cleo grew up on farms in the Okanogan Valley, Washington State. She attended Cheney Normal, (now called Eastern Washington State University) where she obtained a teaching degree and taught school for a short time. Cleo and Wilson met at college and were married July 7, 1937 in Cour d' Alene, Idaho. They moved to Texas where their 3 children were born. The famiy moved to Riveton, Wyoming in 1943 then settled in Newcastle, Wyomng in 1945.

Cleo was a devoted wife and a dedicated loveing mother. She loved living in Newcastle, playing golf and lunch with dear friends. Cleo reluctantly left Newcastle in 2010, moving to Sterling Court and The Bee Hive Homes in St. George, Utah where she was nearerr to family.

Graveside services and burial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery (Newcastle, Wyoming).
Friday, April 11th at 2:00 PM followed by coffee at the Newcastle Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: 1st United Methodist Church, PO Box 249
Newcastle, Wyoming.
