Mr. Royal Bock

Royal Roland Bock was born July 14, 1932 at Clayspur near Osage, Wyoming, the son of Gerald Boise Bock and Helen (Roadifer) Bock.
He attended school at Osage and Newcastle, Wyoming and completed his high school education through American School, Chicago, Illinois. In 1963 he graduated from National Technical School, Los Angeles, California.
Bock served in the United States Navy (1951 - 1955) during the Korean Conflict. He took part in "Operation Wigwam" nuclear testing in the South Pacific.
Bock married Patricia Wheeler in Corona, California on August 11, 1956. The couple had nine children.
Through the years Bock worked for Baroid bentonite plant at Clayspur, owned a garage, T&R Automotive, with Tom Rothleutner in Upton, WY, and in April 1983 started his own furniture manufacturing business, Royal's Woodshop, at the family home in Piedmont, South Dakota. After retiring, Royal and Patricia enjoyed ten summers along the beautiful Pioneer Mountains by Dillon, MT. They settled back in Newcastle in 2007.
When his children were young, Royal was involved in 4-H and Boy Scouts. In 1976 he was honored as Weston County (Wyoming) Father of the Year. He attended the Catholic Church with his family and participated in the religious education of his children before making the choice to be baptized into the Catholic Church on May 27, 2011. Over the years he enjoyed his favorite past times of camping, playing and winning cribbage games, riding and working on bikes and spending quality time with his family.
Bock was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Joseph Royal; a grandson, Friend Royal Robertson; two sisters, Leta Clyde and Anna Larson Mercer; and three brothers, Gerald (Deac); Earl (Bum); and Gerhardt (Jerry) Bock.
He is survived by his spouse, Patricia, of Newcastle and five daughters; Mary (Monte) Robertson; Theresa Larrabee; Dolores Bock; Elizabeth Townsend; Virginia (Alan) Hale; three sons; Lawrence (Gayla) Bock; Michael (Cathy) Bock and Paul Bock; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; his sister, Geraldine (Bubbles) Brown and two special family friends, Sergio Mireles and Eric Klis.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at the First State Bank of Newcastle.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Newcastle, WY.
