Mr. Bill Stubbs

July 19, 1954 — January 11, 2014

Bill Stubbs- The man. The myth. The legend. Bill is the true Most Interesting Man in the World. Men wanted to be him and women loved to be around him. Just Bill died January 11, 2013 at 12:30 in the morning at the Weston County Health Services. Bill loved chocolate doughnuts, cinnamon licorice, and Miller High Life (the Champagne of Beers). You could find him any morning watching his favorite show The Price is Right with his favorite dog, Chocko, a fat chocolate lab. He hated pickles and tomatoes on his sandwiches. He had a great knack for writing Sasquatch commercials that could make anyone buy some beef jerky. Bill was never one for watching sports but he loved to do everything outdoors. He was an expert trap shooter and hunted grizzlies with his bare hands.
Bill was born in Florence, Arizona on July 19, 1954 to Lorene and Francis Stubbs. Ever since Bill could form a conscious thought, he was independent and happy. His parents passed away at a very early age so he bounced around between his eight other siblings. Between all of these people, Bill created a lot of memories spanning the entire United States. Bill adored the ladies and they loved him. He got married when he was 17, to Lori and had three children Tiffany, Elizabeth, and Matt, but it didn't last. Bill was no quitter, however, so he gave it another shot when he met Sweet Melissa. This time it stuck and they had one perfect, beautiful baby girl, Maggie Rae.
Bill is best known for his amazing Stubbs charm, big, goofy smile, amazing personality and his friendliness as he made friends from every person he ever met. There is only one person who would have a bad word about Bill, but being his truly amazing self, Bill took care of him and became best friends. Bill loved to tell stories. And you could be sure 50% of every story was true. You just never knew which 50%. Either that of you went to the weight room to work out and you ended up only working out your jaw as he could talk your ear off. When Bill took off for that moment where he could finally run and walk unhindered, he left behind his wife, Melissa Stubbs, his daughter Maggie Stubbs, his sisters Donna Bell, Frankie Layva and Mary Stubbs, and his brother Peter Mony.
Bill was killed when he rushed into a burning orphanage to save a group of adorable children. Or maybe not. We all know how he liked to tell stories. After all his initials are BS. Bill actually battled many of life's biggest road bumps; two strokes, Parkinson's Disease, ACL Repair, and finally Prostate Cancer.
A Memorial celebration will be held at the Newcastle Country Club Saturday January 18, 2014 from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers please pay the kindness forward or donate to your local animal shelter or hug your pets tight in memory of Bill.
