Mr. A. Jonasson

July 2, 1933 — October 22, 2016

August Albert Jonasson, 83, of Osage WY, died Saturday, October 22nd at Close To Home Hospice in Gillette.
He was born July 2nd, 1933 on the ranch near Four Corners, WY to Per and Ethel(Butolph) Jonasson. Albert grew up farming and ranching his entire life. He attended the Skull Creek country school thru eighth grade.
On November 8th, 1969 he married Joyce Seidel in Bison, South Dakota. He and Joyce continued to live on the ranch until the time of his death.
Albert never met a stranger. His ability to make a friend and help a neighbor was an essential part of his life. Albert enjoyed spending time with his family, neighbors and friends. He loved listening to music and loved to dance. He delighted in telling stories about his years growing up on the ranch. Albert drove the rural school bus for twenty years, hauling his kids around the county. He enjoyed his bus children and loved each one of them. Albert also was an active member of the Weston County Historical Society. He was an avid reader of news and history related to the local area. He loved sharing stories about families and friends and the events of his community.
In the last twenty years, what he has loved and enjoyed the most was the time he spent with his grandchildren. Telling stories, reading books, and sharing candy.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Brenda(Carey) Hieb of Gillette, and Sara(Kent) Story of Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren, Jordan and Madison Hieb; Samantha, Kendall, and Kinsey Story; sister, Elsie Svenson of Vanderhoof, BC; two aunts, Nancy Zerbst and Mildred Butolph; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Osage Ambulance and Fire Department or a donation to the memorial of their choice in his name.
Services will be held at the Weston County Senior Center on November 5th at 10:00am.
