Marjorie Christie

Marjorie Mary Christie, age 95, a resident of Oak Park, died August 21, 2013 at Botsford Commons in Farmington Hills. She was born June 21, 1918 in Detroit to the late Willard and Adele Thompson. Mrs. Christie retired in 1976 from Shrine High School after 20 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and baking. She also loved spending time in the sun in Gatlinburg, TN and vacationing in Florida. Beloved wife of the late William B. Christie. Loving mother of Gary JoLynn Christie, Barry Tina Christie, Cheri Bill Staubach and the late Terry Christie. Dear sister of Virginia Adam Hulinek, Harold Joan Cooper, Judith Eugene Michalski and the late Eileene Cordell. Proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Predeceased by daughter-in-law, Eileen Christie and grandson, Kevin Rilette. Also survived by her best friend, Violet Collins. The visitation will be Monday 3-8 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Christie will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Oak Park.
