Margaret Risberg

Margaret Risberg, age 86, a resident of Royal Oak since 1971, died September 30, 2012 at her home. She was born December 9, 1925 in Ireland to the late Peter and Mary Ward. Mrs. Risberg grew up in Kells, Co. Meath, Ireland. She was a homemaker and enjoyed helping and caring for the elderly. She loved knitting, baking, gardening and going to church. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. She is survived by her children, Pat Jon Mogridge of Wixom, Pete Jenny Risberg of Royal Oak and Paul Norah Risberg of Williamston, MI; siblings, Mary Jo Merrigan of Orange, CA, Larry Ward of Dublin, Ireland and Kathleen Gillespie of Elmwood Park, IL; and grandchildren, Sean Mogridge, Casey Mogridge, Brendan Risberg, Evan Risberg, Bailey Risberg, Emma Risberg and Quinn Risberg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Risberg, on March 28, 1994; the couple married May 23, 1953 in Oak Park, IL. The visitation will be Wednesday 2-8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Risberg will lie in state Thursday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Royal Oak. The burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
