Oct 9, 1936 — Jun 13, 2026

Gillette, Wyoming

Margaret “Maggie” Kimball, 89, passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 13, 2026, in Gillette, Wyoming. Maggie was born on October 8, 1936, in Grand Marais, Minnesota, to Alan & Ruth Peterson. Throughout her life, she called many places home, including Grand Marais, Minnesota, Grayling, Michigan, and Gillette, Wyoming. Wherever she lived, she brought warmth, laughter, resilience, and love to those around her.

Maggie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Michelle Callender, her son, Terrance Kimball, Her Sister Linda Martin and her brother, Bobby Steinbrink;. She is survived by her son, Jack Kimball; her sisters, Jean Winston, Cindy Terry, and her cherished grandchildren, Cheryl Callender, Christina Callender, Cassandra Callender, Marissa Butler, and Cyral Callender.

To know Maggie was to know strength. She was a hard worker who never quit, no matter what life placed in front of her. One of the greatest examples of her courage was protecting her children and getting them out of a terrible situation to ensure their safety. Her love for her children and grandchildren was fierce, unconditional, and impossible to miss.

Maggie had a spunky spirit and an unforgettable personality. She loved her coffee, especially her quiet mornings spent outside on the porch watching the sunrise with a warm cup in hand. She adored nature, planted beautiful flowers everywhere she lived, and had an amazing green thumb. She loved solitaire, puzzles, and keeping her mind busy.

Her family will always remember her tight curls, short hair, and the prettiest blue eyes anyone had ever seen. She had a warm smile and an infectious laugh that could light up a room. Maggie’s homemade bread was legendary, and so were the cards she would send to her grandson Cyral with quarters taped inside, lovingly calling them “BIG MONIES!” She could often be found watching Fox News and passionately yelling back at the television, making everyone around her laugh.

Maggie also carried a beautiful Norwegian heritage that she was proud of throughout her life. She was deeply loving, endlessly giving, and truly one of a kind. Above all else, Maggie was the best G-ma ever. The love she had for her grandchildren was out of this world and never went unseen. Her family will forever hold close the memories, lessons, laughter, and unconditional love she gave so freely. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her spirit will continue to live on in every sunrise, every blooming flower, every shared laugh, and every cup of coffee enjoyed in her memory.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
