Lucille C. Lacey, age 94, a resident of Southfield, formerly of Hazel Park, died May 9, 2011 at Evergreen Health and Living Center in Southfield. She was born September 14, 1916 in Detroit. Mrs. Lacey was a founding member of the Hazel Park Historical Commission. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak for more than 70-years, where she taught Sunday School, was a member of the Women's Guild, and elected the third Lutheran Woman of the Year in 1986. She is survived by her sons, Alan L. Lacey of Southfield and Lloyd P. Rebecca Lacey of Keego Harbor; and grandchildren, Kristen Mike Pollard, David Tonya Lacey and Brian Lacey. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John H. Lacey, on November 20, 2006; the couple married November 30, 1940 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The visitation will be Tuesday 5-9 p.m. and Wednesday 12-9 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Lacey will lie in state Thursday 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m., with the Rev. Jeremy Schultz officiating, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 202 E. Fifth Street, Royal Oak, MI 48067.
