Lois Ann Boulden

November 12, 1933 — March 20, 2026

Lois Ann Janet Joslyn Boulden passed away peacefully on the first day of Spring. March 20, 2026. Lois Ann was born to William Chandler Joslyn and Aldean Shirley (Davis) Joslyn on November 12, 1933 in Gillette, WY. She was the youngest of nine and spent her early years in Wray Colorado and Gillette before moving to Newcastle to attend high school. She graduated from Newcastle High School in 1951 and attended the University of Wyoming.

She married her high school sweetheart, William Davis Boulden on November 7, 1954 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Newcastle. They had three daughters, Billie Ann (Larry) Reed of Douglas, Jeri Cay (Owen) Lampert of Riverton and Kelli Jo (Deo) Carmichael of Casper. Lois Ann and Bill were very active in the Newcastle community and Lois Ann was the driving force and organizer behind many of those activities.

Much of her employment was with Weston County School District #1; first as a secretary to Superintendent of Schools, J.E. Crouch and Marshall Macy and later as secretary at the Gertrude Burns Elementary School. She loved working with the kids and co-workers, many of whom became life-long friends.

When her daughters were young, she was actively involved in their school activities, Girl Scouts and 4-H as well as Jaycee Janes and the Odds & Ends bridge club. She was a member of Family Forum Club, Chapter X, P.E.O., several bridge groups and Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Along with her husband, she enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing and volunteer work. She was a Meals on Wheels volunteer, served on the Weston County Library Board, Home Loving Care Board and was active in the planning committee for several All-School Reunions.

Her first love was always her family. She enjoyed having the grandchildren visit in the summertime and in later years when they were adults. She loved traveling when it included time with grandchildren and she particularly enjoyed the annual Boulden Bash when all the generations get together in the area. Lois Ann loved visits from her many nieces and nephews and could always be counted on as the “historian” of the large extended family.

She will be missed by her three daughters and their husbands, sister-in-law, Frances VanBuren of Newcastle and seven grandchildren: Kristen (Brian) Morrow of Austin TX; Brendon (Jamie) Reed of Westminster CO; Autumn (PJ) Ostlund of Douglas, WY; Jared (Marie) Carmichael of Murray UT; Danielle (Dain) Heaton of Casper, WY; Tyler (Megan) Lampert of Cheyenne, WY; and Trevor (Lauren) Lampert of Rapid City, SD.

Also surviving are 15 great grandchildren Jordyn Heaton, Ethan Heaton, Bennett Morrow, Noah Morrow, Luke Morrow, Reed Ostlund, Riley Ostlund, Joslyn Carmichael, Madisyn Carmichael, Quinn Reed, Sofia Reed, Will Lampert, Jack Lampert, Cooper Lampert and Logan Lampert. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, and friends who became family.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, and her siblings: Josephine Lawson, Francis (Bud) Joslyn, Geraldine Reardon, Richard Joslyn, Sr., James V. (Pete) Joslyn, Gertrude Lytle, Jack Joslyn, and Herbert Chandler (Billy) Joslyn.

The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at Weston County Home Health, Park Place and Caring Edge Hospice in Casper. Because of your care, you allowed us the luxury of enjoying our mother’s final days.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Newcastle, WY. Viewing will be Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 5 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 6 p.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

Those who wish to remember Lois Ann in a special way may make a donation to St Joseph’s Children’s Home in Torrington or Corpus Christi Church in Newcastle. Memorials and condolences may be sent in care of Meridian Mortuary, 111 South Railroad Ave., Newcastle, WY 82701.
