Jack Murray Pedder, age 89, a resident of Royal Oak since 1957, passed away July 19, 2014. Beloved husband of Doreen Newson, whom he married at St. Augustine's Church on April 2, 1949 in Ipswich, England. Loving father of Beverly Steven Wedell and Chris Linda Pedder. Grandfather to Scott Christine Wedell, Meredith Wedell, Evan Pedder and Nathan Pedder. Dearest son of the late George Murray and Ivy Elizabeth Pedder. Brother to the late Fred Pedder. Jack worked for Owens Welding and Modern Die Welding, which he retired from in 2005 after 54 years as an accountant. He served during World War II in the British Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Oak Elks Lodge #1523 and of the Masonic Order. For many years he was a rehearsal accompanist and pit-orchestra pianist for Stagecrafters at the Royal Oak Baldwin Theatre, as well as a piano accompanist and music director at the Marquis Theatre in Northville. Jack also served as accompanist for the Royal Oak Kimball High School theater program for 23 years. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 p.m. with a brief Elks Lodge of Sorrow service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak.
