Jack Junior Bossick, age 90, a long time resident of Royal Oak, passed away in Gladwin, Michigan May 13, 2014. Jack was born January 17, 1924 in Tipton, Indiana. Jack was a combat Veteran of WWII serving our country in The Department of the Navy. Jack served the Royal Oak community for over 30 years where he was a Sergeant in the Royal Oak Police Department. SGT Jack J. Bossick protected the freedom of our nation and the citizens of our community. His selfless service will be honored and not forgotten. Jack enjoyed traveling to Florida and taking walks on the beach with his beloved wife Shirley. While at home Jack's family always made sure his "secret candy drawer" was stocked. He enjoyed watching movies. From action films to comedy films he was content as long as his candy drawer was full. From action films to comedy films, he was content as long as his candy drawer was full. Jack was a member of The Royal Oak Historical Society and The Wounded Warrior Project. He also loved his pick-up truck and taking drives through his Royal Oak community. He is survived by his beloved wife Shirley, whom he married May 2, 1942 in Royal Oak, Michigan. Loving father of Jack Junior Bossick II, Nancy Lee Jack Harris, Karen Jean Wayne Henning, Steven "Mike" Bossick, and Robert Charles Bossick. Proud grandfather of five granddaughters, Julie Harris, Gina Kopitz, Wendy Eric Joslin, Cindy Dale Dunlope, and Brett Bossick; nine grandsons, Jack Harris, Jr., Wayne Laura Henning Jr., David Jessica Bossick, Peter Brandi Bossick, Adam Bossick, Matthew Bossick, Zachariah Bossick, Andrew Bossick, Nathan Bossick, and and 13 great-grandchildren. Jack is preceded in death by all of his siblings and his late daughter-in-law Susan Bossick, wife of Jack Junior Bossick II. Family will receive friends Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak, Michigan 48067 located East of Woodward between Woodward and Main Street. A funeral service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 11:00 AM at the funeral home with The Reverend Dale Hunter officiating. Interment will take place in South Lyon Cemetery on Stryker Street in South Lyon, Michigan.
