He was born February 23, 1923 in Geneva Twp., Wisconsin to Philip and Angela Schmidt. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor. Dear father of Paul the late Nancy, Margie Jeff Roth, John Margaret, Keith and the late Ellen. Proud grandfather of Heather, Kristin, Lauren, Kenneth, Joshua, Genevieve, Gabrielle, Gwendolyn, Gina Marie and Nathaniel. Great grandfather of Jaiden and Teo. Brother of Sr. Cecilia, IHM, Mary, Emmy Hughie Caverly, Pat Bud Smith, the late Tom, Bea the late Tommy Beddow and Frank. Brother-in-law of Catherine and Colet. Former brother-in-law of Sheila Love. Mr. Schmidt previously served in the Michigan National Guard, was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, the Detroit Club of Printing House Craftsmen, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Knights of Columbus #2569 and the South Oakland Concert Band. He was an avid woodworker and also enjoyed travelling and photography. Visitation Thursday 2-8 pm with a scriptural rosary at 7 pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. 4 blks. E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Funeral Friday, in-state l0:30 am until time of Mass 11 am, at St. Mary Magdelen Catholic Church, Hazel Park. Memorial contributions to Capuchin Soup Kitchen or St. Vincent de Paul Society are appreciated.
