Gerald Lee Fawcett, affectionately known to family and friends as Jerry, passed away on February 19, 2026, in his hometown of Newcastle, Wyoming. Born on February 4, 1946, to Crawford and Alice Fawcett, Jerry lived a life marked by dedication, service, and a strong sense of community. A proud veteran Jerry served in the Navy from 1966 to 1969, a period that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep sense of commitment to his country. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career as an oil field worker for Texaco, where he was known for his diligent work ethic and reliability.

Jerry's educational journey began in Newcastle, where he attended Newcastle High School. His roots in this close-knit community remained strong throughout his life, reflecting his enduring connection to family and friends.

In his personal life, Jerry enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, camping, family gatherings, morning coffee with friends, Deadwood trips, woodworking and storytelling. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Karol Miner-Fawcett. Together, they raised two children: Ray (Susie) Miner, and Cris (Phillip) Giffin, both of whom carry forward his legacy of kindness and resilience. He is also survived by his caring sister, Dorothy Pitts.

Throughout his years, Jerry cherished the bonds with his extensive family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Crawford Franklin Fawcett and Alice Margaret Statler, along with several siblings: Thomas, Doris Hailey, Lois Hurley, Lewis, Jean Day, Joan Lassle, Robert, and Judy Hampton. In addition to his siblings, he had a special bond with his nephews, Brian, Lee, and Travis Pitts, who adored their uncle.

Jerry Fawcett's impact on the lives of those he loved will be remembered with deep affection. His legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his family, his contributions to the community, and the countless memories shared among those who were fortunate to know him.
