George Reichenbach

George John Reichenbach, age 89, a resident of Royal Oak since 1956, passed away peacefully February 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born September 9, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan. George worked as a salesperson, selling both insurance and real estate, during his working life. He loved his family, playing golf, and was a long time member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower Church in Royal Oak. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. Guzak; the couple married November 14, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan; loving father of Robert Reichenbach and Marilyn Reichenbach; son of the late George and Ada Reichenbach. The visitation will be Sunday 4:30-8 p.m. and Monday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. George will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Church in Royal Oak, with the Rev. Fr. Patrick Gonyeau officiating. The burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan. Memorials to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen or donor's choice are appreciated.
