Gary Krell

July 30, 1951 — March 29, 2020

Four Corners

Gary Krell, 68, a Four Corners rancher, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly (at home) early morning March 29, 2020.

Gary was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on July 30, 1951 to Edwin and Mary Lou (Beckman) Krell.  He attended Plankinton, SD schools and graduated with the class of 1969.  He furthered his education by driving semi-trucks for Krell Trucking.

On November 9, 1974, he was in the Black Hills “deer” hunting and met Bev Pzinski at the Flying V.  From that point he was a “dear” hunter.  On June 5, 1976, Gary and Bev were married in Newcastle, Wyoming.  They lived in Mitchell, Plankinton and Gann Valley, South Dakota, before moving to Wyoming in 1982.  They welcomed three children, Ty, Tandi and Tara.

Gary was a simple--straight to the point--man of few words.  He was at “home” on the ranch, in the roping arena, at a neighbor’s branding, at a rodeo, watching almost any sport, at a sale barn or at special gatherings.  He was always the life of the party, and you could always catch him on the dance floor, especially when YMCA came on.  He would never turn down the chance to jitterbug.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and many roping associations through the years.  He was most recently employed by Belle Fourche Livestock Market as a Fieldman.

Survivors include his wife of 44 ½ years Bev; son Ty (Jenny) Krell Four Corners, WY; daughter Tandi (Jason) Croghan of Rapid City, SD; daughter Tara (Tav) Sayaloune of Chadron, NE.  Grandchildren, Jake and Hadlee Krell, Camree and Keeton Croghan, Taverra and Destinh Sayaloune, father Ed Krell of Plankinton, SD; sister Cindy (Bob) Hine of Wessington Springs, SD; brother Mike (Mary) Krell of Plankinton, SD;  sisters in law Marilyn (Bill) Lunney of Newcastle, WY and Janet (Bob) Hall of Langdon, ND and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou Krell, grandparents, Beckman and Krell, mother and father-in-law, Ed and Judy Pzinski, grandparents Pzinski and Lissolo.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 2020, at the Greenwood Cemetery, Newcastle, WY; Father Brian Hess will be officiating.  Facebook live stream via Meridian Mortuary Facebook page will be available.
