Edward Alfred Gordon Sr., age 88, passed away at home on April 25, 2014. Born February 9, 1926 in Detroit. Most important to Ed, was always his generous support for and with family, friends and his Catholic faith. He was a proud Driver/Mechanic Technician for Chrysler Corporation/Defense Engineering for 30 years. He was involved with the M60 tank project for Chrysler Defense Engineering in the 1970's, along with pre-production of Chrysler's new FWD front-wheel drive in the 1980's. A constant tinkerer of all things mechanical, often simply to see how they worked, bringing a whole new meaning to backyard mechanics and numerous building projects. When his sons were young, he loved snowball fights along with the area kids, many times taking on what seemed like the entire neighborhood. In later years, enjoying many travels to Frost Township. Always a Good Samaritan without hesitation, affectionately known for his quirky, exhaustingly chatty, but mostly big-heartedness. Ed served as an Usher at Guardian Angels Catholic Church when called upon. Loving father of Sheri Gordon, Debbie Gordon, Ed 'Guy' Gordon II, Conni Richard Naperkowski Gordon and Tom Kim Gordon. Proud grandfather of Jeff, Dionne, Jeremy and Kristen and 3 great-grandchildren Gaven, Joshua and Brody. Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years Dolores Gordon. The visitation will be Sunday 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a scripture and eulogy service at 7:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E. of Woodward, Royal Oak. Instate Monday 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass 10:30 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Clawson. Memorials to the family are appreciated.
