Delphine Caroline O'Brien, age 82, a resident of Berkley, died October 9, 2013 in Pontiac. She was born July 18, 1931 in Detroit. Mrs. O'Brien was the owner of Del O'Brien's Multi-Entertainment for 35 years. She was a member of the National Shrine of the Little Flower for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Oakland County Boat Club, Berkley Chamber of Commerce and Kiwanis. She loved traveling, including several trips to Ireland and was an honorary ambassador of Aruba. She enjoyed spending time on her pontoon boat on Sylvan Lake, golfing, going to live theater and the symphony. She loved music, playing the piano and singing in the Detroit Rackham Choir and the Shrine Choir. She was most proud of being married to the late Honorable John O'Brien, Circuit Court Judge died March 30, 1993; the couple married November 22, 1958 at Duns Scotus Chapel in Southfield. She is survived by her children, Shannon O'Brien, John Judi O'Brien, Timothy O'Brien, Maureen Mike Orsini and Patrick Shelly O'Brien; sisters-in-law, Shirley O'Brien and Margie Turner; grandchildren, Laura, Sean Elaine, Mike, Katie, John, Matt, Molly, Cally, Liam, Jake, Jessica, Michaella, Briana, Connor and Maryn; and great grandchildren, Alexander, Landon, Angelo and Brayden. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and siblings, Elizabeth Self and Thomas W. Turner, Jr. The visitation will be Saturday 2-8 p.m. and Sunday 3-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service officiated by Rev. Edward Prus at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blks. E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. O'Brien will lie in state Monday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak.
