Delbert Blocker

On September 26, 2026, Delbert Blocker departed to his heavenly home. He was born October 1, 1946 in Pierre, South Dakota to Albert Fred Blocker and Lucile Marie (McLaughlin) Blocker. He was raised in Presho, South Dakota and graduated from Presho High School in 1964. In 1968, he graduated from Southern State Teachers College with a degree in Business Education. He then taught business classes in Newcastle until his retirement in 1995. 

On July 12, 1971, he married LaRae Peters. They had two sons, Alan and Daniel. 

He enjoyed being a good steward of the land along with teaching people how to hunt and fish. Spending time with his grandchildren was always a highlight.

He is survived by his wife, LaRae, sons Alan (Jane) Blocker, Daniel (Jennifer) Blocker three grandchildren Corbin, Conrad, and Kyli. Brothers-in-law Marvin (Donna) Peters and Howard Peters, an aunt, nieces and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dennis Blocker and sister-in-law Ceil Peters.
