David "Otis" Alan Albrecht, 63, a resident of Washington Township, formally from Utica, died Thursday, September 13, 2012, at his home after battling cancer for the past year. He was born May 14, 1949 in Pontiac, Michigan, son of the late Carl and Luella Schwartz Albrecht. He married Kathleen Skaug Albrecht on August 3, 1974. David graduated from Utica High School in 1967. His career revolved around a love of anything with a motor. This included working as a body shop manager and car insurance adjuster before retiring in 2010. Mr. Albrecht also had a passion for Cub Scouts. This passion started when he was a young boy and later continued with his son and grandsons. He has enjoyed being Cubmaster of Pack 256 since 2004. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of Washington Township, daughter, Shauna Daniel Norrow of Romeo, and his son, Christopher Aleah Albrecht of Bloomingdale, MI. , brother, Dennis Barbara Albrecht of Ocala, Florida, and sister, Nancy Albrecht of Traverse City, and grandchildren, Brennen, Riley, Rowan, and Lilah. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Ardyn. A memorial gathering will be Saturday, September 22nd from 1:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road 3 blks east of VanDyke Utica. Memorial contributions appreciated to Boy Scouts of America - Pack 256.
