Charles Simmons, Jr

Charles G. Simmons Jr., age 86, a resident of Royal Oak, passed away November 4, 2013 at his home. He was born May 21, 1927 in Lawrence County, OH to the late Charles Sr. and Esther. Mr. Simmons was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and was a retired manager from A&P supermarket. Beloved husband of Joyce S. Simmons nee Downey; loving father of Sharon Martin of Clawson, Linda K. Scott VanMeter of Berkley, Beth Ann William Carten of Rochester Hills and the late Paul E. Simmons; father-in-law of Cindy Dennis Stenzel Simmons of Roseville; proud grandfather of Kathryn Phil Smith, Paul Simmons, Aubrey Simmons, Emily VanMeter, Briana Carten, Cameron Martin, Molly VanMeter and Tyler Carten; great grandfather of Brady Simmons and Emma Ozzello; and dear brother of the late Albert Simmons and Dorothy M. Thompson. The visitation will be Thursday 3-8 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Burial at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
