Carol Hoolehan

Carol Ann Hoolehan, age 75, a resident of Royal Oak, died May 25, 2011 at her home. She was born December 7, 1935 in Detroit to the late Nan and Ray Head. Mrs. Hoolehan worked for GM Photographic and the Royal Oak School District. She was also a volunteer at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She is survived by her husband, John J. Hoolehan; the couple married February 1, 1958; children, Christopher Beth Hoolehan of Sandy Hook, CT and Holly Roy Ruhle of Royal Oak; and 12 grandchildren, Katherine, Tyler, Alexandra, Adam, Margaret, Jacqueline, Scott, Mark, Sean, Maria, Stephen and Jenna Ann. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donalda Leach. Mrs. Hoolehan was extremely involved in various ministries at the National Shrine of the Little Flower, such as Ladies Guild, CSA, Eucharistic Minister, Adoration Chapel to mention a few. She also was an associate member of the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. Carol's vibrant, generous and gracious personality extended far beyond her loving family. The visitation will be Monday 2-8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W Eleven Mile Road 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. Mrs. Hoolehan will lie in state Tuesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass 10 a.m. at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, with Msgr. William Easton officiating. The burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
