Beverly Russ

Beverly Russ, age 78, a long-time resident of Madison Heights, passed away at home surrounded by family on April 7, 2014. She was born on May 12, 1935 to Edward and Ruby Gray McCrystal in Detroit. Survived by her husband of 58 years, Wesley "Butch". Mother of Dan Connie, Joe Sara, Sandi, Tom, Kerri Gary Moran and Linda. Grandmother of Amanda, Alan Nicole, Justy, Sean, Mike, Colin, Brad, Josh Ashley, Wesley, Ashley, Skyler and Stuart. Great grandmother of Anya, Addisyn, Payton and Rylie. Sister of Helen Hugh Smiley, the late Edward McCrystal Jr. and Maureen Boothe. Sister-in-law of Linda McCrystal. In Bev's earlier years, she was an avid cake decorator. Bev and Butch enjoyed bowling on leagues with life long friends for many years. Even after being wheelchair bound, she still enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren when they were young. She and Butch enjoyed summer months spent up north at their cabin. The visitation will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Thursday 1-8 p.m. with the service Friday 11 a.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Rd. 4 blocks E of Woodward, Royal Oak. The burial will take place at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy.
