Alice Cawker

Alice Mae Cawker was born to William Ross and Alice Jane Crombie Brooks on May 13, 1917 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She moved to Ferndale at the age of three and was a graduate of Ferndale High School. She had been a Royal Oak resident since 1939. She passed away February 1, 2014 at the age of 96. She is predeceased by her husband Charles; daughter Carolyn; sisters Mary Harris and Margaret Nicholson; and brothers Richard and John Brooks. She is survived by her daughter Judy Ken Murray; granddaughter Sharon Kelly Brown, grandson Charles Murray, granddaughter LeeAnn Jeff Sutphin and grandson Robert Herrin. She is also survived by two great-grandsons, Sean and Brian Brown, and six great-granddaughters Mariel, Lindsey and Lauren Murray, Lauren Herrin, Drew Block and Brook Sutphin. Services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak on Crooks Road and Northwood Blvd. on May 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Memorial Garden. Donations can be made to the First Congregational Church of Royal Oak, or any charity of your choice.
